12-month Birth Control Bill Public Hearing

When: Tuesday, April 18th, 1:00 p.m.

Where: Insurance and Financial Services Committee, room 220 of the Cross Office Building, 210 State Street Augusta

Sign up to attend here

99% of women will use some method of birth control in their lifetime — that’s why convenient access is essential to a woman’s health and future planning. But most Maine insurance corporations allow a woman to obtain up only one or three months of birth control at a time, creating an unnecessary obstacle to navigate.

LD 1237 will change the current law so women can get up to 12 months of birth control at time. Help us pink out the public hearing for this bill! And if your legislator is on the Insurance and Financial Services Committee, email them to support increased access to birth control.
